Cornwall Honeymoon Ideas – BEST PLACES TO VISIT

Our best Beaches

Kynance Cove

At low tide Kynance Cove can look like the Cornish Caribbean. Crystal clear blue waters and white sandy beaches. In the winter it also can be a dramatic and wild location to watch big waves and see the power of nature. We highly recommend walking the coast path to Predannack or to the Lizard. Read more in our ‘Top 8 Coastal Walks’for your Holiday in Cornwall.

Bedruthan is another popular choice. This huge white sandy beach revealed at low tide is dramatic in all weather with huge sea stacks towering high into the sky.

Porthcurno is another tropical location for your Holiday in Cornwall. You can walk from Porthcurno to Logan’s Rock and have a nice climb down to the beautiful Pedn Vounder Beach which is a famous nudist beach. Be careful with the rip currents in this area as these beaches takes many lives every year.

Hot Spots to watch big waves
Visit Porthleven

Porthleven is our hometown and we love living in this cute harbour village. It is one of the most famous locations in Cornwall and the UK to watch the powerful winter storms and see big waves, it is also popular with surfers. You can watch the waves safely from the harbour. Just don’t get too close!

Sennen Beach

Sennen is a well known and popular surf spot and family holiday destination in Cornwall. The long white sandy beaches in the summer are beautiful but we much prefer spending our time here in the winter months. This stretch of exposed coastline gets hit hard when a storm rolls in and can make for some great big wave watching. Park at Sennen or Land’s End to see the true beauty of the wild seas crash against the cliffs. Cornwall Holiday

Portreath is one of the famous spots for landscape photographers and fans of big waves watching. You can watch the big waves crash over the monkey hut from a safe distance on either the harbour side or from the beach. We definitely recommend this beautiful place which also has a selection of cute coffee houses and cafes to warm up in after

Amazing places to watch to watch the Stars

Botallack Mine

On the remote and wild Tin Coast, the famous Crowns engine houses hang to the edge of high cliffs. Part of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site and Poldark filming location. This area has little light pollution and is great for watching the Milky Way! It does however get busy with nightscape photographers.

Levant Mine

These mines are also situated on the 7-mile long stretch of coastline which is known as the Tin Coast. This coastline has a rich mining history. We love these mines as they are quieter and less popular than Botallack. The mines are perched high up on the cliffs and make for a prefect romantic night under the stars.

Rinsey under the Milky Way

Wheal Prosper engine house is dramatically situated on the cliff tops of Rinsey over-looking Rinsey Cove and Porthcew Beach 3 miles from Portleven. There is more mines further along the coast path which cling to the edge of the cliffs. This location is perfect for watching the Milky Way if you want to share a romantic night under the stars.
