Your Beautiful Elopement told through beautiful Flowers

Wedding Flowers Cornwall
Why are your flowers the perfect choice for an elopement wedding?
Our flower farm offers you the chance to be flexible and creative with your wedding flowers. Unlike a florist, with us it doesn't matter whether you order a year or a week in advance. We will always be able to offer you slow grown, organic blooms, full of scent, movement and just as nature intended. If you're unsure about working with your flowers, just ask. We're always happy to offer a little guidance.

What do you grow on the farm?
Our six acre farm has a half acre cut flower field, orchard, wildflower meadow and woodland. This allows us to offer a wide variety of flowers and foliage, much of which you'd struggle to find elsewhere. Everything is grown using organic methods, making us a sustainable and eco-friendly choice.

What can you expect if you choose us for your wedding flowers?
Our flowers and foliage are cut at dawn on the day you collect, making them exceptionally fresh. Wedding flowers come by the bucket, 75% of which will be flowers, the remainder made up of fresh foliage that's perfect for offsetting your blooms. We always cut to your colour pallet and style choice. By special arrangement, we can also offer bespoke foliage for wedding structures like archways.

When are your flowers available?
Because we don't force our flowers, we offer flowers and foliage between April and October. We also have a selection of dried flowers in the winter months.

Kind Words - Wedding Flowers Cornwall
We had our wedding bouquets and we were so happy with them. We had said our favourite flowers were white roses and purple and had no idea how good they’d look. We were a bit nervous picking them up but we were so happy with what they’d made! Gorgeous flowers at extremely reasonable prices. We would definitely recommend the lovely people and lovely flowers! Thanks for making our wedding day that much more special.

Can I have more of a unique and bespoke look to my flowers?
How can I save money on flowers for my wedding?
The answer is yes if you can give the florist a brief of colours and vibe but let them loose! If a florist feels that they are trusted to deliver, they will go the extra mile and enjoy the creative process. This ethos of trust goes along way. We say here that Mother Nature is the designer and if you go with the flowers that are in bloom at that moment in time; your wedding flowers will capture this and provide you with a unique combination of flowers .
Pale and blush flowers will always cost more; alongside our larger flowers for example, Garden Roses, Delphiniums and Peonies. Always choose seasonal flowers as they will be cheaper and it is lovely to have some reflection of the season within your wedding flowers. The best way to save money if working with a flower grower/florist is to go with colour. Here in Mellangoose Farm, we have a simple and seasonal range at a budget price; pale and muted toned flowers are always in our bespoke packages.
How do I keep the stress of elopement planning at bay?
I am trying to be as ethical as possible with our wedding, what do I look out for when choosing a florist?
Always keep at the centre of all decisions that it is about the two of you, the smaller the wedding the more stress free your day will be. “Don’t sweat the small stuff” Details will make your day unique to you but when the preparation stops being a joy; just walk away and concentrate on the basics. We go back to trusting your suppliers, they are experts in setting up your wedding day and when you have like-minded suppliers, who are passionate about their service and love working together; without trying your day will be so special.
The top of the list would be an organic grower/florist or a florist committed to using organic flowers. We are a rare breed as it is easier to use chemicals and heated greenhouses, monoculture and mass irrigation to achieve a good yield of flowers. Next best would be a florist that was committed to buy flowers grown locally or in Britain and ethically sourced Dutch market flowers. Although choosing Dutch flowers means opting for air miles, the addition of local or British flowers will offset this. Also, quiz your florist on how they consider the environment in every aspect of their business. Do they use recycled plastic containers or compost their green waste? You can help support your florist by looking at arrangements that do not rely on florist foam for their mechanics; using chicken wire and moss would be a more eco approach.
