Choosing a wedding ring can seem a bit daunting, especially if you aren’t one for wearing jewellery. For many, their wedding ring might be the only piece of jewellery they ever wear. It’s also one of the few items from your wedding day that will worn everyday.Justin Duance Jewellery, Justin Duance Jewellery,Justin Duance Jewellery
Justin never set out to make wedding rings, he just wanted to make cool rings, you guys decided the same for your wedding bands. And here we are! We make bespoke, one of a kind rings inspired by our natural surroundings.
Wood Inlay Rings & Bands from Cornwall
Justin first started making wood inlay rings when he graduated in 2000 and they continue to be a popular choice as a wedding band. You can choose the wood your ring is inlaid with or even supply your own.
These rings change over time, as the wood wears and darkens, in contrast to the smooth metal. We recommend choosing a strong metal such a gold or titanium for a wood wedding band as it offers most protection for the wood.
About our Sandcast Wedding Ring
Our sandcast rings are a firm favourite with couples who are looking for an organic twist on classic designs full of sentimentality. These rings are cast in beach sand. The sand not only creates the unique texture on the ring, tiny grains are captured in the molten gold so you can carry a little piece of your favourite place with you everywhere you go. Customers are welcome to collect their own sand, or choose some from our ever growing sand collection. It’s a lovely way of personalising your rings, especially if you are planning a beach elopement!
Using our sandcast technique,
we can remodel your heirloom gold and stones into new and contemporary pieces. Transforming inherited jewellery into something that’s ‘you’ is one of our favourite things to do. Knowing that the materials we are using already carry generations of history and love makes the final piece extra special.
Every sandcast ring comes out differently and can vary from a quite subtle sandy texture to pretty rugged. While we can’t control exactly how each ring turns out, we can nudge them in one direction or another. The lovely thing about our sandcast range, is that often, at first glance a sandcast ring might appear to be a classic gold band. It’s up to the wearer to tell the rings story and point out the little grains of beach sand they know so well. Our lesser known collections include our overlay and inlay rings that combine contrasting metals; and our rock rings, which are heavily textured to reflect our rocky coastline.
Jewellery Penzance
At Justin Duance all of our rings are handmade to order, which gives you the option of personalising your rings in many ways. From choosing bespoke widths and profiles to getting involved in the process by providing your own heirloom gold, wood or beach sand for your ring.
There is also the option of adding engravings, from simple dates to doodles and fingerprints. We welcome commissions of all shapes and sizes, so if you have an idea – do get in touch! Choosing a wedding ring is about finding a ring that suits you, at the end of the day, whatever you choose will hold unmatchable sentimental value because it will be a symbol of your love for the person you married. We are always happy to help and visits to the workshop are very welcome by appointment.

Some testimonials & Kind words
Just to let you know that my ring arrived in the post this morning. Please pass on my enormous thanks to all the members of the team who were involved in the process from my first visit and discussion to the final finished ring. It is glorious and everything that I hoped for. The tiny diamonds peep out from the crevices like shining drops of sand or sea glass and the fact that it was cast in the sand from my local beach is wonderful. It has been a wonderful makeover, and so much more, to my wedding ring that had needed to be resized after 38 years. I am absolutely delighted with the result and deeply grateful to you all. What a creative team you are. Thank you -Deborah
First off, I love my ring
People tell me regularly, that it’s one of the coolest men’s wedding bands that they’ve ever seen but I don’t even care because I like it so much. I seriously think that it gives me superpowers. Thank you! It was also so awesome to work with you that I’m telling everyone about Justin Duance. You guys have such a great thing going, especially for people who have gold that’s meaningful to them. I don’t know if I shared this with you but my father passed away in 2016. And the work that you did to transform his cufflinks into a ring that I get to wear every day is a great gift. The ring that you made for me holds the foundational strength and energy that my wife and I experience in our marriage AND it serves as a reminder of the love of my father – two blessings that continue to unfold in my life.
You were with me every step of the way in the creative process, with the know-how to get the job done and the awareness of the technical aspects of the project, and that enabled me to really open up and imagine the possibilities when it came to the wedding band. The communication was awesome and the execution was perfect – including the international shipping, the timing, and the last-minute idea to add the engraving. You handled it all! I give you guys six stars and 11 out of 10. And recommend you to any guy who wants a ring that tells a powerful story – David
Beautiful rings!
Arrived faster than expected which was a plus, opted to use our own sand to make it a bit more personal. Just what we were looking for really, not too fussy but a bit different and more unique than something from a high street jeweller. Love the recycled aspect too, was a nice surprise that they arrived in these lovely cork boxes as well! Extremely helpful with answering questions and nothing is too much which made the whole experience much less stressful for me, not knowing how it would all work or what the outcome would be. So comfortable to wear. Thank you again, definitely recommend! 🙂 – Katie
Where to begin – the quality is incredible
My partner and I decided to wait until after our wedding to get these rings, as we were married on the beach we were able to use sand from our ceremony to cast the rings. In addition, I had my father’s wedding ring recast by Justin Duance and his crew with the same sand. I sent them my father’s ring but was concerned as this family heirloom was dropped in the mail. Jamila stayed with me every step of the way, patiently updating me until the moment when the ring arrived – even going so far as sending me a video of my father’s ring getting molten down. What came back to us two months later were two beautiful wedding rings and a third ring, recast, that means a lot to me. Thank you Justin Duance, Jamila and team – Sandrine
This ring is perfect,
and my fiancé loves it! We were able to use sand from his favourite beach from childhood. And the slight wave to the band has special meaning for us since we met working on a ship. This company is wonderful, and I’d especially like to thank Jamila for being so helpful throughout this process! – Terrance
